Why I Created Overcome Today
At one point in my walk as a believer, I faced a range of struggles that were difficult for me to overcome. I loved God deeply and was trying desperately to see victory in those areas, but because I wasn’t seeing the consistent fruit I desired, I lived in a state of condemnation and anxiety. I often found myself discouraged because I wasn’t where I thought I should be. Things began to change the day I felt God impress on my heart, “I just want you to Overcome Today and let Me worry about tomorrow”. I started to see more consistent fruit because I was no longer living in the future or being consumed by tomorrow. Instead, I began focusing on glorifying God in the present, trusting Him one day at a time.
Overcome Today was created out of that experience to serve as a daily reminder that no matter what you are going through, you can overcome through Christ—one day at a time. First Corinthians 10:13 reminds us, “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” This Scripture reminds us that our struggles are not unique to us, that we are not alone, and that God is faithful to provide the grace and strength we need to endure and overcome.
The front of each T-shirt features an image depicting a biblical character, the struggle they faced, and how they overcame by God’s grace—showing that even some of the most faithful individuals in Scripture wrestled with real challenges. This truth reminds us that we are not alone in our struggles and that God is faithful to carry us through our own.
On the back, each design includes a corresponding Scripture followed by a greater-than symbol (>) and the specific struggle, symbolizing that God’s Word and His promises are greater than anything we face. Just as the men and women throughout Scripture faced real struggles and experienced God’s faithfulness, we too can overcome by His grace—one day at a time.
